Minimalist Menu was created to prove that healthy food can be tasty food. Here you will find healthy, balanced recipes developed from wholesome ingredients. No labels. Just real food.
Why minimalist? Because you don’t need special, nowhere-to-be-found ingredients to enjoy a nutritious, wholesome diet. The best things in life are simple – and so are these recipes.
How it all started…
Hiiiiii. My name is Ruta Grasys and I’m a recipe developer, fitness enthusiast and absolute foodie.
My whole life, I’ve always had a passion for food and cooking. But my real jump into the culinary world began about 5 years ago.

It all started when I got obsessed with needing a toned body. I started going to the gym and watching my diet like crazy. At this point in my life, chicken, rice, and veggies would pretty much sum up my diet. Talk about “wholesome”, right?
I would just keep going back and forth from dieting and undereating, to building muscle and overeating. It’s no surprise that this lifestyle led to binge eating.
Then I got to thinking – can’t eating healthy be enjoyable and guilt-free at the same time? That’s when it all started.
I started learning about macronutrients and how a balanced diet should look like. I got creative. Started testing out all kinds of new recipes, recreating healthier versions of my so-called guilty pleasures. And my whole perspective on healthy eating changed.
I realized that weight loss is one of the most profitable industries in the world and the industry leaders want us to believe that healthy eating can’t be delicious or easy. They want us to believe that we need special pills, teas, supplements, etc. Basically, the way a “healthy diet” is portrayed to us is completely misleading so weight loss giants could make a profit. And that’s why most people think that a healthy diet can’t be tasty. I want to break that belief.
Fast forward to today, and I’m happy to say that overexercising, chronic dieting and binge eating – are all things of my past. Body positivity is still a work in progress, but we’re getting there… 🙂 Now I look at food as fuel for my body and soul. Or, another way I like to put it:
Balanced meals = a healthy body.
Tasty meals = a happy body.
I’m making the best of both worlds here and I hope you will join me. 🙂
